Hearing aids mainly consist of five parts: a microphone, amplifier, earpiece, power supply, and volume control. Hearing aids are classified by conduction method into air conduction hearing aids and bone conduction hearing aids; and by usage method into box-type, eyeglass-type, hair clip-type, behind-the-ear, in-the-ear, in-the-canal, and fully-in-the-canal hearing aids.
A hearing aid is an instrument that helps improve hearing. Essentially, it is a small semiconductor amplifier that amplifies weak sounds and transmits them to the earpiece, allowing the affected area to hear.
There are several types, but their functions and principles are the same.
(1) Based on external structure, they can be divided into: box-type, behind-the-ear, and in-the-ear. In-the-ear hearing aids can be further divided into ordinary in-the-ear, in-the-canal, and fully-in-the-canal hearing aids.
(2) Based on electronic principles, they can be divided into: analog hearing aids; programmable hearing aids; fully digital hearing aids; and wide dynamic range speech technology hearing aids, etc.
(3) Hearing aids are classified into air conduction hearing aids and bone conduction hearing aids according to their conduction method. Box-type, behind-the-ear, and in-the-ear hearing aids are all air conduction hearing aids.
